Synopsis
Chapter I - Day-to-day Life I
Touya experiment with his null spells and smartphone. Touya figures out that he can enchant his map app with search. He also finds out that the search spell works by giving a hit of objects Touya will judge what he’s searching for if he sees it himself. Another thing he found out was that he can enchant his camera app with long sense, what it did was it showed what he was seeing, even with long sense.
Linze came back with a scroll record of a water type offensive spell bubble bomb written in ancient spirit script so Touya made her a translation glasses using modeling, enchant, and reading:ancient magic script. And so Linze wants to learn the spell and asks Touya for help. And so the next day, Touya brings Linze to an open area in the forest and Linze begins practicing. Linze practices magic by repeating the chant over and over and so she exhausts her magic power frequently and so Touya goes to Charlotte for help and she tells him that there’s a null spell called Transfer, which transfers magical power from one person to another and so Touya uses this on Linze to help her. Touya learns that people don’t actually know what the spells mean (from the context of the light novel, they know the chant but it’s like in a different language that they don’t understand the meaning) an example is when Linze said, “Eh? Well, yes. There is a meaning to the name of every spell. For example, the [Fire] part from Fire Storm means to create flames, and...” And that the glasses translated things too literally and so the word appeared in Katakana and so Linze can’t create a mental image of bubble bomb. So when Touya explains what bubble bomb is, after more practice, Linze finally did it.
Then, Touya brings Elze to the capital to buy new gauntlets because on a quest they undertook, Elze’s gauntlets were damaged. They went to the shop, Berkut and they looked for and saw two pairs of gauntlets, first was a defense oriented gauntlet while the second was an attack oriented gauntlet and so Elze bought both for 31 gold saying that she’ll just mix and match the gauntlets and keep the excess as a spare and that it won’t matter even if she used any on either hand since she’s a switch-hitter.
Then Tristwin Ernes Belfast, the King awards Touya a noble title which Touya refused but is given a house and twenty royal coins (1 royal coin is worth ten platinum coins) instead. And when Touya was in the King’s mansion, General Leon who apparently also uses gauntlets was there and invites Elze to join the army training which she agrees to. And Charlotte came to Touya asking him to create more translation glasses which he does.

Afterword
It’s been only a short while since the first volume. And here you have the second one already. Isn’t that amazing?
Well, it would be even better if I had anything I could write for this afterword. That’s a bit of a problem here... Alright, what should I talk about... In my mind, this work of mine is meant to be a simple, fun read with a slant toward the comedic, so there are a number of scenes made just to get a few laughs. One of the things I like to use for this purpose is [Slip]. It makes me remember something that happened to me once. It happened when I first went to Yamagata city in the Yamagata prefecture. It was in the middle of winter. I walked down the station stairs, sentimental about finally being there. Then, when I took my first big step into the city, I slipped and fell as if I was in some kind of comedy skit. The snowfall had made the ground icy. I was surprised by what happened to me, then I looked up and saw the people of Yamagata, walking around on the ice as if it was nothing. I honestly thought they were pretty amazing. Now that I think about it, that event might actually be what created [Slip]. Oh, damn. I was talking about something wintery, but this volume isn’t coming out during the winter at all.
Anyway, here’s my special thanks for this time. To Eiji Usatsuka. Thank you for the excellent dressing room scene you drew as the color illustration for this volume. I actually pumped my fist into the air when I saw the rough sketch. To K, thank you so much for taking so many things into consideration for me. To everyone at Hobby Japan’s editorial department and everyone who took part in this and the previous book’s publication, thank you all so much. And to all those who read my work, regardless if it’s this book or the web novel version, you have my deepest gratitude.
